Kratos is King Jehu
Every barbarian needs a reason to go to war, and like Kratos, King Jehu had a worthy one. Kratos rips apart Greek and Nordic gods for the sake of protecting his family and revenge. He doesn’t ponder the purpose of war, nor does he extend an olive branch as an option.
King Jehu was chosen to be the brutal arm of justice against King Ahab. Originally an army commander, Jehu vowed to go on a campaign to kill the friends and followers of King Ahab, who was a pagan tyrant to the people of Israel.
Jehu got up and went into the house. Then the prophet poured the oil on Jehu’s head and declared, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘I anoint you king over the Lord’s people Israel. 7 You are to destroy the house of Ahab your master, and I will avenge the blood of my servants the prophets and the blood of all the Lord’s servants shed by Jezebel. 8 The whole house of Ahab will perish. I will cut off from Ahab every last male in Israel—slave or free.[a 2 Kings 9:6-8
Mario is King David
Hear me out. Mario is a versatile protagonist who is always ready to serve the Mushroom Kingdom. He is dedicated to protecting Princess Peach and maintaining peace in the land. But Mario also excels in many hobbies like sports, dancing, and medicine.
King David devoted his life to preserving and protecting Israel. He won many great battles against the Philistines for the sake of his nation. But King David also excels in many hobbies, like hunting, poetry, and playing music.

Samus is Deborah
Samus is a bounty hunter who earns her wages by capturing threats in space. She is not a soldier of fortune, however, as she uses her skills to save the galaxy. Her main enemy is a power-draining parasite that preys on the innocent. Her character rushes into battle, pursuing the goal until the threat is defeated. Soldiers trust Samus and are willing to follow her into battle.
Deborah was a judge before Israel had a king. She volunteered as an army leader when the chosen fighter, Barak, was too nervous to fight alone. She went to war against King Jabin, a parasitic ruler who governed the defeated nation. Deborah charged into battle without hesitation, using her battalion as a tactic to draw the enemy out into the open. Israel followed her into battle, knowing she had God’s favor and victory.
8 Barak said to her, “If you go with me, I’ll go. But if you don’t go with me, I won’t go.”
9 “All right,” Deborah said. “I’ll go with you. But because of the way you are doing this, you won’t receive any honor. Instead, the Lord will hand Sisera over to a woman.” So Deborah went to Kedesh with Barak. 10 There he sent for men from Zebulun and Naphtali. And 10,000 men followed him into battle. Deborah also went with him. Judges 4:8-10
