Bandai’s Ultimate Muscle series is the most underrated wrestling game of the mid-2000s. There’s no doubt you will never play it (legally) as it costs $60-$100 used on eBay to get it on PSP or GameCube.

The frenetic pace of UM is what sets it apart from modern wrestling games. Even though a wrestler might have ten unique moves, Ultimate Muscle is about speedy fighting and hopping around to gain the upper hand. Two wrestlers will jump around the ring trying top rope splashes and quick grapples. And when you finally get your action meter up to level 3, you can perform a crushing finisher that would most likely kill a real human instantly.

Fans of the series can watch the whole ridiculous series via online or read a used manga. Ultimate Muscle started as a collectible plastic toy and evolved into a franchise.

Wrestlers named Kid Muscle, Dik Dik, Kevin Mask, and Buffaloman can face off in singles, tag teams, and fatal-4 matches. The action has never been duplicated in any other wrestling game and it’s sad to think this franchise dies in the 2000s
