Superman is unwilling for anyone to get hurt. Even someone as lowly as a squirrel gets protected. In the same way, God has the same attitude about suffering for everyone.
Matt 10:29-31 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Superman puts himself in the role of a protector, and he doesn’t exclude any creature. From his mangy dog to a child about to be hit by debris, Superman puts himself in danger so that others may live. That is his most significant criticism of the Justice gang, because it aligns with his personal philosophy on what a hero does.
God, on the other hand, makes himself even more responsible for the life and death of all creatures. This makes things a ton more complicated as we live with the reality of death. However, in Matthew 10:29-31, Jesus says this as a way of reassurance. God cares so much about us that there is nothing in our lives he doesn’t manage, categorize, and ordain. Meaning we can trust him with the decisions he makes. We can trust him so much that even sparrows can trust him.
