THE TAKEAWAY:

God created us to be stronger in numbers

MESSAGE:

Voltron is not the first series to have five teens merge vehicles to form a super robot, but it is the most iconic. The show was adapted from other Japanese series that already invented the idea of giant mecha fighting alien life forms. Voltron was America’s only experience with this kind of anime in the 80s. Still, we got our first treat of space heroes uniting different parts of a giant robot to turn into a massive guardian against King Zarkon of Planet Doom. And of course, you had to buy all the vehicle toys to build the full Voltron mech. That was clever, toy companies.

Jesus sent out his disciples in pairs. He also required 2-3 to be gathered to form a congregation that could handle church matters. There’s something holy about God’s people pooling their powers to realize the full potential of God.

One of the most popular marriage vows is Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 because it illustrates the power of connecting with someone through hardship and peril. Adam needed to be with Eve to understand relational intimacy. David needed to work alongside Jonathan. Elijah needed to mentor Elisha.

It’s not like we can’t experience God in private, but we cannot see the full spectrum of God’s love and effectiveness without a friend, co-worker, or partner.

Are you blessed enough to be working with someone? You should be connecting with others in projects, services, recreation, and ministry or you are missing out on one of God’s favorite experiences.

FIGURE IT OUT:

9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. 10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up. 11 Again, if two lie together, then they have warmth; but how can one keep warm alone? 12 If a man prevails against one who is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
